The Kenya National Examinations Council, known as KNEC, has anchored over 15 million academic records on Avalanche’s C-Chain, with projections putting the final count somewhere between 30 and 35 million records. The dataset includes exam results dating as far back as 1989, covering decades of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, or KCSE, results. The goal is straightforward: make every KCSE certificate instantly verifiable by anyone with access to the portal, with no room for forgery and no need to phone a government office. Avalanche’s C-Chain, which is Ethereum-compatible and designed for high-throughput applications, is the exclusive blockchain infrastructure for the project. KNEC is targeting nearly 1 million candidates sitting the KCSE in 2025 as the first cohort to receive digital credentials through the new system.
