The Senate of Nigeria previously stated that the provision prohibiting bus preaching has been part of Nigerian law since the enactment of the FRSC Establishment Act in 2007. The legislative body said the amendment prioritizes the safety of commuters and road users and is not intended to undermine religious activities in public spaces. During the church service in Canaanland, Ogun State, the religious leader said he would pray against those responsible for violent attacks.
