Earlier this Summer, students from the 2DMoT CDT were part of a team representing 2D materials at Manchester at the Universally Manchester Festival. This was the 3rd edition of the festival showcasing how the university is working towards a greener, healthier and fairer world. We had a stand in the Nancy Rothwell building outlining what 2D materials are, how we make them and where they can be used in future technology. Over the course of the day, we spoke to hundreds of visitors about the potential applications of graphene and 2D materials, including use in advanced electronics and sustainable technologies. The Universally Manchester Festival gave us the opportunity to develop our skills in communication and public engagement with a lay audience.
