Tech stocks climbed higher Friday after a rocky week that saw SpaceX (SPCX) and AMD (AMD) post earnings that failed to impress Wall Street's lofty expectations and Google (GOOG, GOOGL) announced major changes to its AI division. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (^SOX) also rose for the week, rising more than 8% over the last five trading days. SpaceX stock jumped 15.8% on Friday for its best day ever, continuing the late-week momentum to finish up nearly 23% for the week. DeepMind CTO and Google chief AI architect Koray Kavukcuoglu will become senior vice president for DeepMind and report directly to Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai. The company is also losing chief scientist Jeff Dean, who is founding a new company called Discovery Loop with Google senior fellow Sanjay Ghemawat.
