Steam trains have been suspended on the Severn Valley Railway, with diesel locomotives hauling trains instead. The railway says that the period of hot and dry weather is continuing with very little rain forecast. A lineside fire near Bewdley meant that the fire brigade was called and remained on site for around 2 and a half hours. The suspension caused delays for passengers and an inconvenience for local residents.
