The Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan warned of a possible mudflow hazard in the country’s mountainous and foothill regions. According to the ministry, there is a risk of mudflows and rising river water levels due to expected heavy rainfall in the mountainous and foothill regions of the country on the afternoon of August 3 and on August 4-6. The Ministry of Transport urged citizens to strictly observe road safety regulations, consider weather conditions when planning trips, and exercise particular caution when driving on mountain roads. The ministry recommends following official warnings and, if necessary, refraining from traveling to areas where mudflows are possible.
