Australia explains who stands to benefit most from its 2026/27 migration programme.
Skilled Stream Sees the Biggest Shake-UpThe Skilled Migration Programme accounts for 132,240 places, roughly 71% of the total.
Regional visas were cut sharply, from 33,000 down to 14,110, while State and Territory Nominated places rose slightly to 35,500.
Family Programme Holds SteadyThe Family Programme retains 52,460 places overall, with partner visas edging up from 40,500 to 41,500 and child visas increasing from 3,000 to 3,500.
Parent visas dipped from 8,500 to 7,060, and other family visas fell marginally from 500 to 400.
