This August, INDAWRU FILM screenings come to Xgħajra for the first time, marking the fifth REGIONAL MOSAIC event in the Port Region of Culture programme. From the 4th to the 6th of August, the Xgħajra Greek Theatre will be transformed into an open-air cinema, celebrating the richness and diversity of Maltese filmmaking. Together, the films explore themes of identity, family, memory, resilience, migration and the human experience, reflecting the breadth of contemporary Maltese cinema. Curated by Francesca Zammit, INDAWRU FILM is founded on the idea of bringing Maltese cinema into the heart of the Port Region’s localities. INDAWRU FILM is more than a film festival, it is an opportunity to celebrate Maltese storytelling, strengthen community engagement and showcase how underused public spaces can be transformed into vibrant cultural venues.
