Washington DC: FIFA President Gianni Infantino is actively seeking backing from the US Trump administration as he faces mounting pressure to resign from his position, according to a recent report by the New York Post.
The embattled football chief is reportedly scheduled to hold private discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

However, Trump recently stated that he had not discussed the failed World Cup commercial investment proposal with the FIFA leader.
As Infantino prepares to potentially seek a fourth term as FIFA president—a campaign that would cover the 2027–2031 cycle—his political standing has been significantly destabilised.
