A 33-year-old resident of Rocky View County drowned in Quarry Lake before Canmore RCMP recovered the body Saturday evening, according to the police agency. Officers received a report at nearly 6 p.m. of a struggling swimmer at Quarry Lake who was without a life jacket and disappeared into the water. Canmore RCMP was joined by Alberta Conservation Officers and Canmore Fire and Emergency Services, whose officers found the man, a resident of Rocky View County, underwater. With aerial support from the Calgary Police Service's HAWKS unit, the body was spotted in the water. RCMP officials confirmed the man was a resident of Mexico and his body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
