EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Eau Claire Fire Rescue is mourning the death of Firefighter Bryce Jungbluth, who died after suffering a medical emergency following a shift.
Jungbluth, 27, experienced the medical emergency July 26 shortly after coming off duty, according to the department.
Jungbluth previously served with Carrboro Fire-Rescue before joining Eau Claire Fire Rescue, according to the Carrboro Police Department in North Carolina.
“He cared deeply about the fire service and approached every shift with a willingness to learn, serve others, and support his fellow firefighters,” Eau Claire Fire Rescue stated.
“The Eau Claire Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to Bryce’s family, friends and all those affected by this tremendous loss,” the department stated.
