Canada built the Gordie Howe Bridge for just-in-time auto logistics, but Stellantis's toll contract keeps its fleet on the old routeFCA Transport currently has an exclusive contract with the Ambassador Bridge. A local UAW chair says truck drivers must not use the new Gordie Howe Bridge. Truck drivers who work for Stellantis are being warned that if they use the new Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Detroit, Michigan, with Windsor, Ontario, they could face disciplinary action. Rather than using the new bridge, they’re being instructed to keep using the aging Ambassador Bridge, located just down the Detroit River. The directive appears to apply specifically to FCA Transport drivers covered by UAW Local 212, not to all Stellantis traffic or employees at the Windsor Assembly Plant, CTV News reports.
