New details expected in deaths of Mechanicville children

MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. (WNYT) – Authorities are expected to release more information about how four children in Mechanicville were killed and what a handwritten note left behind may have said.
The Mechanicville Police Department has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 10 a.m.Sources told NewsChannel 13 more details are expected Monday about the mix of drugs, including fentanyl, given to the four children who died in June in Mechanicville.
Police have said the coroner ruled the deaths of grandmother Amy Steadman and her daughter Sarah Myers were suicides.
The coroner also ruled that Myers’ four children, who were between 10 and 13 years old, were killed in homicides by poisoning.
Sources said authorities are also expected to release more information about the contents of a handwritten note left behind by Steadman.
