Joanna Hilditch, owner and managing director of Whittern Farms near Kington, has been shortlisted for Agriculture’s Woman of the Year at the British Farming Awards. "The biggest challenges of my career began at its very start, and they were both personal and professional," said Mrs Hilditch. Whittern Farms produces blackcurrants, cider apples, vineyards, wheat, barley, oats and maize. She hosts farm walks, talks, and has an open house policy to engage the public and promote sustainable agriculture. Whittern Farms also collaborates with groups such as the Wildlife Trust, Wye & Usk Foundation, NFU Mutual, Ribena, and more.
