A wise old friend, now sadly departed, once told me there is no such thing as perfect parenting. That’s Camp Bestival in a nutshell – daft idea, elevated to greatness by a level of execution and stagecraft that consistently impresses and delights. Nevertheless, she is gratifyingly chuffed when everybody’s favourite blue dog joins Bastille onstage for his scintillating main stage tour de force. The main stage, arrestingly situated opposite Lulworth Castle, boasts a stellar line-up. Beatles Dub Club, who we’ve watched work their way up from the festival’s dinkier venues, now command a packed main stage, complete with horn section.
