GREENOCK’S 1st XI away match against Stirling County was called off due to water on the wicket. Heavy overnight rain on Friday night got under the covers and soaked the pitch. The Glenpark XI did manage to play against Stenhousemuir’s 2nd XI (the Tryst) through at Larbert and came close to recording their first victory of the leaguecampaign. Batting first, they reached 180 for nine in their 40 overs, with Waqas Ahmed scoring a fine 78. The Tryst started steadily but they didn’t lose enough wickets and won the game in the 38th over, scoring 181 for 4.
