Deborah Erskine said she had pressed the Agriculture Minister for a full investigation in two letters sent last month following the incident, which sparked widespread public concern. The Fermanagh and South Tyrone MLA said the Minister has now confirmed an external review will examine the Department's handling of the cull. She said the findings will be published and presented to the Northern Ireland Assembly for scrutiny by MLAs. Mrs. Erskine said the DUP would continue to press for accountability over the Department's handling of the operation. "The DUP will not rest until those responsible are held to account for a serious failure in the Department's own handling of animal welfare," she added.
