Speaking at Norfolk Coroner’s Court, Ms Thompson explained that an inquest had originally been opened into the death but was suspended while a murder investigation and subsequent criminal prosecution took place. The defendant has been convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Under coronial law, an inquest is not normally resumed where the facts surrounding a death have already been fully established through criminal proceedings. Following a trial at Norwich Crown Court, Junior Suleimane, now 22, was found guilty of murder. Area coroner Johanna Thompson permanently suspended the inquest.
