Indi Assembly MLA Resigns Over Denial Of Ministerial Berth

BENGALURU: Congress MLA Yeshvanthraya Gouda Patil on Monday resigned as MLA representing Indi Assembly seat in Vijayapura, over denial of a ministerial berth in the cabinet expansion.
A 3-time MLA Patil tendered his resignation to Deputy Speaker Rudrappa Lamani.
Patil said "I was assured a ministerial berth till yesterday but today my name has been missed in the list approved by the high command.”
Recalling he said prior to the 2023 Assembly election, "I was assured of a ministerial berth and another assurance was at the time of formation of Government to make me a minister for two-and-half years."
“I’m a veteran leader and will not go back on my decision to quit as an MLA,” the Indi MLA said and ruled out accepting the post of a Chairman of a Board/Corporation.
