Trinity United Methodist Church will host its Back to School Block Party on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brogden Hall at New Hanover High School. Organizers say 800 backpacks filled with school supplies will be distributed during the event, including 450 for elementary school students and 350 for middle and high school students. The event will include free hot dog lunches and back-to-school haircuts provided by Great Clips. The event is open to the community.
