Children’s Museum of Wilmington highlights free membership program for local families(Photo/ Children's Museum of Wilmington)WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Children’s Museum of Wilmington is highlighting a program designed to expand access for local families as part of its annual Mission Month observance in August. The museum said its Community Membership program provides free museum memberships to families through partnerships with child-serving nonprofit organizations, libraries and Smart Start programs in New Hanover, Brunswick and Pender counties. According to the museum, each membership covers admission for two adults and up to six children in a household. Museum officials said the Community Membership program began in 2010 to help reduce financial barriers for families who want to visit the museum. In addition to highlighting the Community Membership initiative, the museum announced several August programs and events.
