The Braves and Giants announced a one-for-one swap on deadline eve. San Francisco traded veteran starter Tyler Mahle, an impending free agent, to Atlanta for reliever Anthony Molina. Mahle has a 5.13 earned run average across 18 starts, though he’s been sharper since returning from the hamstring issue. The ERA regression which teams expected indeed transpired, but Mahle has pushed his strikeout rate back up by three percentage points. He has a 15.1% strikeout rate in just shy of 100 career frames.
