Though there’s been plenty of talk surrounding both relievers, the Padres aren’t likely to let go of either left-hander Adrián Morejón or righty Mason Miller, writes AJ Cassavell of MLB.com. It’s seemed like a long shot that Miller, baseball’s best reliever who’s controlled three years beyond 2026, would change hands for some time now. The Padres have listened and will probably continue to do so throughout the day, if only because ever-active president of baseball operations A.J. Cassavell further writes that while the Padres could deal a different reliever — Wandy Peralta, Yuki Matsui, Kyle Hart, etc. It’d be tough for a team to part with a controllable starter to rent Morejón for a couple months.
