The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Monday calls for cloudy skies and fog near the coast and the bay, and patchy smoke and sunny skies inland. The NWS says a cooling trend will begin Monday as an upper-level weather system moves toward the West Coast. Forecasters also warn that minor coastal flooding is possible during the highest evening and overnight tides through Thursday morning in low-lying areas along San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay and Monterey Bay. Looking ahead, the weather service expects there is up to a 10% chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday, though most of the Bay Area is expected to remain dry.
