The Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DoH) is working to improve mental healthcare across the emirate by moving from reactive treatment to proactive, person-centred care. In addition, 1,930 family physicians have been trained to diagnose and manage common mental health conditions at primary healthcare centres. Mental healthcare in Abu Dhabi is now supported by a network of 143 facilities, including 13 specialised centres with 640 qualified professionals. With these steps, Abu Dhabi is expanding mental health services and making support more available for people across the emirate.
