The warning was issued by Fylde Council, which said the Environment Agency had been informed following reports of the bloom at the popular St Annes attraction. As a precaution, members of the public have been urged to keep children and pets away from the water's edge and not allow dogs to enter or drink from the lake. In a statement, Fylde Council said: "We are aware of a suspected algal bloom at the lake. "As a precaution, please avoid direct contact with the lake water, and keep children and pets away from the water's edge. Activities involving a higher risk of water contact including paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, and rowing boats, have been suspended.
