Pendle Neighbourhood Policing Team officers PC Burrow and PC Wheeler had been targeting the e-bikes and off-road bikes in the area, amongst other crimes. Two males wearing balaclavas were riding Sur-Ron electric dirt bikes dangerously at Colne Rugby Club, and the officers managed to get close to the males while not being detected. PC Wheeler then jumped out of the passenger seat of his vehicle and managed to tackle one of the males, who tried to escape once he saw the officers. “We want to make it clear that anyone riding these bikes in this manner will be targeted and the bikes will be seized and crushed.” If you have any information relating to the illegal use of e-bikes / off-road bikes, please contact the Pendle Neighbourhood team at: pendle.npt@lancashire.police.uk
