The court heard Holt began a relationship with the girl in summer 2023 when she was 13, after meeting through a mutual friend. The girl’s school attendance deteriorated during the relationship, and she became increasingly isolated from friends and family. The court heard the sexual relationship began in January 2024, shortly after the girl turned 14, when Holt was 17, and it continued after he turned 18. In a victim personal statement, the girl said the relationship had affected “all aspects” of her life.
