A 62-year-old Duluth man has been charged after allegedly pointing a sawed-off shotgun at a person and threating to kill them near Erickson Road in Thomson Township on August 2. According to court documents, Michael Scanlon showed up at a residence that was having a BBQ. Court documents indicate that Scanlon and the resident knew each other through a family tie. At 8:43 p.m., the suspect was found in the woods near the residence and taken into custody for second-degree assault. A search warrant was obtained, and the suspected firearm was found in the woods near where the suspect was arrested.
