Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen dismissed former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s claim that informers inside government leaked details of President William Ruto’s planned launch of Vision 2060. He accused Gachagua of spreading rumours and trying to present himself as someone with access to confidential government information. “Nilikuwa naona juzi mtu anasimama tu anaanza kusema ati ooh ‘Rais ataeenda kuzindua Vision 2060 nimeambiwa na NIS, nimeambiwa na DCI’ na ni uwongo tupu,” Murkomen said. Murkomen added that Ruto posted the announcement on his Facebook page early on the morning of July 27, before the report went public. He said Gachagua’s claims aimed to make people believe that Gachagua has a network of informers within the security establishment.
