Kiaf SEOUL, South Korea’s first international art fair, has confirmed 175 exhibitors from 18 countries for its 25th edition, taking place September 2–6 at COEX in Seoul, the same dates and venue as Frieze Seoul. The Galleries Association of Korea, which organizes the fair, has also named designer Kuho Jung as its first external creative director. The exhibitor list includes first-time participants Nino Mier Gallery and JD Malat Gallery, along with returning Korean galleries Kukje Gallery, Gana Art, and Arario Gallery, and international galleries Whitestone Gallery and Opera Gallery. Kiaf PLUS will include 11 international galleries from cities such as Bangkok, Tokyo, and Madrid. The show marks two anniversaries: 20 years since LACMA’s 2006–07 exhibition on Magritte’s influence on postwar artists, and 90 years since the International Surrealist Exhibition in London, which helped establish Magritte’s international reputation.
