Celtic have rejected a surprise approach for Kieran Tierney and have no intention of allowing the left-back to leave just a year after his emotional return to the club. Tierney rejoined the Hoops last summer and immediately re-established himself as one of the first names on Martin O’Neill’s teamsheet, enjoying an great first season back in Glasgow. The Scottish champions have rebuffed the approach from the club and are expected to take the same stance should any further interest emerge before the transfer window closes. Tierney made no secret of his desire to return to Celtic last year, turning down interest from elsewhere to complete an emotional homecoming. Losing both first-choice full-backs in the same transfer window would represent a major blow, something Martin O’Neill will be keen to avoid.
