Several yacht owners whose vessels are currently dry-docked at Tyrell Bay Marina in Carriacou say they should not be “held hostage” over a property dispute in which they have no involvement. Le Sommer’s experience is shared by other boat owners who said the situation extends far beyond inconvenience. The affected boat owners also sought to have their interests considered in the proceedings. An email requesting comment was sent to Jerome McQuilkin of Tyrell Bay Marina seeking information on the marina’s response to the judgment, the effect on operations, and measures being taken to assist affected boat owners. In the meantime, boat owners continue to advocate for the release of their vessels and have since sought legal counsel.
