Dimapur, August 2 (MExN): The Dimapur Naga Students' Union (DNSU) has extended its support to the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) over its call for the protection of Naga ancestral lands, expressing concern over issues surrounding the Maova village land dispute. The DNSU said ancestral land was not merely a physical asset but a vital component of the history, culture and existence of the Naga people. Any attempt to undermine or disregard customary land rights, it said, posed a direct threat to the social fabric and collective identity of the community. It also appealed to all sections of society to remain vigilant and united in safeguarding ancestral lands, stating that collective responsibility and timely intervention were essential to maintaining peace, harmony and justice. Reaffirming its commitment to the cause, the DNSU said it would continue to stand alongside the NSF and "all right-thinking citizens" in defending the rightful heritage and dignity of the Naga people.
