Home could be built on Green Belt land where farmer grows fruit and veg

A planning application has been submitted seeking permission in principle for the construction of one dwelling on land off Roading Brook Road at Heights Farm.
The site, which is currently used for growing fruit and vegetables, lies within the Green Belt and is accessed via an existing track serving nearby homes and horse stables.
They say the site is well screened by existing trees and neighbouring development and that building a single home would not undermine the wider purpose of the Green Belt.
The application states Bolton Council currently has only a 3.7-year supply of deliverable housing land, below the five-year target required by national planning guidance.
