Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Brunswick Avenue shortly before 8.45pm on Sunday, August 2. Officers attended the scene and, as they proceeded to make an arrest, a dog was used in an alleged attempt to avoid being detained. The force said a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of attempted Section 18 assault and attempting to resist arrest. The man was further arrested for failing to appear in court. Both suspects remain in custody for questioning as officers continue their investigation into the incident.
