The blaze on Hackney Road was reported to the London Fire Brigade for the first time at 7.53am this morning. In total, the brigade's control room received 40 calls reporting the fire after a large cloud of smoke raised concern. Road closures are in place at the time of reporting (Image: Sabz)Around 40 firefighters in six fire engines were dispatched to the scene, where the fire was located in part of the roof. The blaze was brought under control by 8.47am. People have been asked to avoid the area this morning as road closures continue in both directions on Hackney Road between Shoreditch High Street and Cremer Street.
