Menai Suspension Bridge closure was due to 'incident involving vehicle'

The bridge was closed yesterday morning for around four hours, but mystery remained as to why the bridge was shut. Traffic Wales initially said this was due to an "ongoing police incident", but North Wales Police denied any involvement. Welsh Government has confirmed the incident involved a vehicle, and said it would launch an urgent investigation of the closure. A spokesperson said: “The Menai Suspension Bridge was temporarily closed earlier today following an incident involving a vehicle. “An urgent investigation of the incident will take place as we work with all stakeholders to try and minimise any further disruption.”
