Two Toronto-area women were killed when the car they were riding in collided with a disabled transport truck on Highway 401 near Gananoque early Monday morning. “The initial investigation indicates that a transport truck was disabled on the westbound right shoulder when it was struck by a westbound passenger vehicle,” police said Monday. Two occupants of the passenger vehicle, women aged 47 and 73, were pronounced dead at the scene, police added. The transport truck driver was not injured. She said safety cones were out around the disabled transport truck at the time of the collision.
