The self-guided Uddingston Heritage Trail was officially launched on Friday, July 31 at Uddingston Cross by Councillor Kenny McCreary of South Lanarkshire Council. "Whether you've lived here all your life or you're visiting for the first time, we hope the Heritage Trail encourages people to explore the village, discover its hidden stories and take pride in our shared heritage. The trail was funded through South Lanarkshire Council’s Local Action Fund. A central feature of the project is a new Heritage Information Board at Uddingston Cross, marking the start and end of the trail. Contributions can be emailed to growuddingston@gmail.com for possible inclusion on the Heritage Trail website, helping to ensure the village's history is preserved and celebrated for future generations.
