Suzzallo believed that a university library should feel like a cathedral of learning, a place that inspired awe and encouraged serious scholarship. The Allen Library wing, funded largely by a major gift, was added decades later and named to honor its benefactors. Suzzallo and Allen Libraries together hold millions of physical volumes, plus access to vast digital archives and special collections.
