Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre on Monday issued an orange alert for Kamareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Medak, and Sangareddy districts, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. In view of the weather department’s warning that heavy rains are likely to lash the city until tonight, everyone must remain extremely cautious, City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel unless it is an emergency and to avoid stepping out of their homes. Those already outside should quickly complete their work before the rain intensifies and return home safely, he said. Drivers must reduce speed, take necessary precautions in emergencies, stay alert and ensure everyone reaches home safely, he added.
