Kolkata: A woman from Thailand was arrested by the police in the city on Sunday evening for allegedly staying here over the last five years after the expiry of her tourist visa. The accused, M Sansuknewat, was caught from a spa centre on Sarat Bose Road in southern parts of the city during a raid by the cops at around 5 pm. Originally from Bangkok, she was staying at a rented house on Choubagha Road in Tiljala for a long time. Her passport, recovered by the police, showed its validity for five years from February 23 in 2020 while her tourist visa had one-year-term from February 28 in 2020. The Thai tourist was later taken to Tollygunge police station.
