Bangladesh’s High Court on Sunday granted bail to Hindu religious leader Chinmoy Krishna Das in two cases, The Daily Star reported. The two cases in which he was granted bail on Sunday pertain to attempted murder and obstructing police officers from discharging their duties. On April 30, 2025, a High Court bench had granted bail to Das in a sedition case. “Our position on the matter is clear – the interim government must live up to its responsibility of protecting all minorities,” ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal had said. In response, Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had said that the developments surrounding Das’ arrest were the country’s “internal affairs”.
