Earlier this year, Cachar Police arrested another man for allegedly posing as an MBBS doctor and treating patients without possessing any recognised medical qualifications or medical training. This police action followed an inspection carried out by a special Health Department team led by the Joint Director of Health Services, Cachar. In its complaint, the health department stated that practising medicine without valid qualifications and registration constitutes a serious violation of the law and poses a significant threat to public health.
