SRINAGAR: Intense rainfall triggered flash floods in Shopian district on Monday, inundating several houses in Badrhama village and causing panic among residents. Quoting officials news agency GNS reported that the sudden downpour led to an overflow of water into residential areas, damaging property. According to eyewitnesses, floodwaters entered homes within minutes, forcing multiple families to evacuate to safer places as water levels rose quickly. A team from the local administration and emergency services reached Badrhama to take stock of the situation and coordinate relief work. Separately, SDRF officials said Zawoora area also witnessed severe waterlogging.
