Since its return to the global cycling calendar, the race has helped raise the profile of elite women’s cycling and brought new audiences to the sport.
That point matters deeply in architecture and construction because inclusive design begins with inclusive thinking.
According to the Construction Industry Training Board’s latest workforce outlook, the industry will need an average of 41,200 extra workers per year between 2026 and 2030, equivalent to around 206,000 additional workers over the five-year period.
The race to build a more inclusive construction industry is not a side story.
