Birmingham reached 1,000 career points in just her 41st game – a 26-point outing in an 83-53 win at Indianola on January 30. Head coach Joe Sigrist tells KNIA Sports that Birmingham surpassing 1,000 points in less than two seasons is a tremendous accomplishment. For the season, Birmingham led the entire state with 745 points and 205 made free throws, earning First Team All-State recognition for the second straight year. “But her first two years in a Norwalk uniform are close to unmatched in the state of Iowa in its history… In its storied history.”
