Coming in at #5 for Pleasantville top sports stories of the 2025-2026 school year is the boys and girls track and field teams sending six events to the state meet. The Trojan track and field teams competed at the Class 2A state qualifier meet hosted by Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont where four events were able to punch their tickets to the state track and field meet. Among the events that qualified for the state meet were the girls shuttle hurdle relay, 4X100 meter relay, Ryleigh Hardman in the 400 hurdles and distance medley team and on the boys side, Will Mesecher qualified in both the discus and shot put. At the state meet the shuttle hurdle relay team placed eighth with a time of 1:09.08, the distance medley team placed sixth with a time of 4:15.23 and Mesecher took eighth in the discus with a throw of 153’ and 17th in the shot put with a throw of 14.52.
