The Donegal Mountain Rescue Team (DMRT) came to the assistance of an experienced walker who became stranded in heavy fog on Muckish Mountain last week. At 8.22am last Wednesday, the volunteer team was tasked by Gardaí to assist a hillwalker who had become stuck near the trig point in very heavy fog. Advertisement Advertisement“This is a good example of someone doing the right thing,” a DMRT spokesperson said. “The person was experienced, warm, carrying food and water, and had plenty of battery left in their phone. Rather than guessing their way off the mountain in near zero visibility, the person stopped and called for help.
